We made it to Edmonton Fashion Week tonight and caught the Fantasy Hair Competition. We saw faux-hawks mixed with corn rows, a war themed coif, cherry blossoms sprouting from hair and a purple and orange hairstyle inspired by newspapers. We got a chance to talk to the winner of the competition, David Puyaoan, and have the deets on the inspiration behind his creation (we’re tired, so that’s coming tomorrow;) We also loved the backcombed styles created by The Cutting Room that surrounded the 100 year old Ukrainian headdresses for Natasha Lazarovic’s show.
The runway was amazing but our true pleasure was meeting the people behind the scenes during the reception. We met fellow bloggers from High gloss white, Dress Me Dearly and Stacey from Western Canada Fashion Week. We had no idea there was this secret Edmonton blogger society but we’re secretly hoping to be a part of it;)
Great show. Great people. More tomorrow. Good night
