When I needed a deep conditioning treatment for my over processed hair, my stylist suggested the Brazillian Blowout – Acai Deep Conditioning Masque. This masque boasts some pretty lofty claims, listing on the bottle that it acts as an intense reconstructer, smooths and strengthens, infuses moisture, promotes shine, is color-safe and provides UVA/UVB protection. Seemed like all stuff I was in need of, so I bought it at around $25 for an 8oz bottle.
First time I used it I had ridiculously tangled hair that I didn’t wanna brush out because, well, that hurts and is time consuming So I applied the product generously and left it on for 20 minutes as noted on the back of the bottle, then rinsed it out. It was so creamy and completely rid my hair of the tangles without the painful and damaging effects of brushing. After I dried my hair it did feel very soft and smooth BUT it was a little too soft and smooth for my liking (it almost made my hair too slippery to hold a curl). My hair felt and looked healthy but was also flat and lifeless at the same time. Which I guess Is understandable as it is, after all, repairing all the damage I’ve done to my poor hair.
I love this product and will continue to use it as my number one hair repair but not twice a week like it suggests. More like once a month, leaving it in overnight to give my hair that extra bit of loving care and damage control it needs.
