It’s never fun to admit having the “D” word but it’s a fact of life and especially when you live in a cold, dry climate, mother nature can be a little harsh on your skin. it’s easy to keep your skin moisturized with lotions and chap stick but how do you keep your scalp moisturized ?!
You could try to use a heavy conditioner to keep your scalp from drying out but that could also leave your hair feeling oily, heavy and limp. I started to notice that even with my blonde hair you could see little dry flakes along my hair line. I wear my hair up a lot so it became very noticeable and bothersome to me. The fact that my head was dry and itchy was not my biggest problem, it was the gross white flakes I needed to get rid of and FAST!
I talked to a few stylist and googled a few remedies and got a few suggestions to try out hot oil treatments, I did and honestly found they never really worked for me.
WHAT DID WORK for my silly Dandruffed scalp was the PURIFYING Anti-Dandruff line by DAVINES! I use it with my Davines MoMo Shampoo & Conditioner and found that even the next day my scalp feels fresh and there are no flakes.
-First I Shampoo with Momo because I find it’s a light cleansing shampoo and conditioner that I prefer to use in the winter because it’s not too heavy that it weights my hair down. Rinse clean.
-Then take a small amount of the PURIFYING Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and lather it throughout your scalp, adding water gives it a better lather. ( I find this shampoo smells like Buckley’s cough syrup, but it makes me think the medicinal smell means it’s working!) Rinse.
-Apply the PURIFYING Anti-Dandruff Gel to the scalp, then I apply MoMo conditioner to the bottom of my hair and leave them in at the same time for about 5 min and rinse. You may want to follow the directions on each bottle as they call for a longer “work with” time but I’m terrible at waiting so I rush it just a bit-but it still seems to work for me. So find what works best for you.
I DO HIGHLY recommend this product if you are having issues with a dry, itchy, flaky scalp-also known as Dandruff I use it about twice a week with my shampoo regime and have not had any “D” symptoms since.
