When I was in Essential Salon & Spa earlier this week, the owner and stylists talked so highly about a line they carry, called Surface, that I had to try it. I bought a big bottle of Surface Trinity Strengthening Shampoo and was given a sample pack of the Surface Bassu Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner. This line sounds amazing; from it’s commitment to being exclusively sold at independent salons (no big chains or beauty supply stores) and sponsoring World Vision children through their product’s sales, to being 100% vegan but still paying close attention to the ingredients, making sure their products still perform. I was so excited to try this line out…
The shampoo and conditioner both had a really nice smell – I can’t quite describe it except to say it smells fresh and clean, as a shampoo should;) The shampoo worked great with a little bit going a long way and what stuck out to me was that my hair felt smooth and silky after rinsing the shampoo out, I couldn’t wait to see what the conditioner did. The real test for me lately is when I get out of the shower as I mentioned here. This shampoo did the trick for me, no irritation and no build up left behind.
The conditioner was nice and thick – I know that doesn’t always equal greatness but it’s a good start – and I didn’t have to use too much for my long hair. I could easily get my comb through my strands and my hair still felt soft once I got out of the shower. I continued to have silky hair as I blowdried and it wasn’t weighed down. What more could you ask for? 100% natural ingredients but performs as well as silicone based conditioners, I’m in love
Overall I give this line two thumbs up – it is by far the best all natural/vegan line I have tried. I love that it’s extremely hypo-allergenic but it still performs to my standards.
