|Bangs Before & After|
When visiting Epic Beauty Boutique a couple weeks ago I picked up an intriguing product, VOILA Color Kult hair coloring cream in “ICE” shade for $29. It’s claim is that it would regenerate and intensify the highlights in my color-treated hair. Adding that the ICE shade was ideal for preventing yellowing and adding tone to highlights in blonde. I was quite excited to try this product as it seemed to be the perfect solution to keep a cool toned blond between colorings, (I am about 3 1/2 weeks in from my last color).
I read the rest of the bottle at home and realized it requires you to use gloves to apply, this seemed a little extreme but I guess you are adding “color” to your hair therefore gloves make sense to protect your hands. It also notes to avoid contact with your scalp but this was kind of hard to do during application as it is a cream and you’re bound to get some contact, which I did.
I let the cream process for longer than the suggested 3 minutes and left it in for almost 15, I apparently like to live on the edge;) Leaving it on the extra time didn’t seem to make a huge difference in the end anyways, there was no staining at all. Once I rinsed the cream I gave myself a quick blow dry and took a look at the end result. The product left my hair feeling like I had just left the salon, it was so soft and silky. And more importantly, I really did notice a difference in the color on some parts of my hair. The tone seemed cooler than it had prior to use of the product and made a difference on one particularly brassy chunk of hair I had. The pics I took don’t really do the product justice but you can see a little how the overall appearance of the hair has changed for the cooler;) The only downfall is the pain in the ass gloves and mess I made whilst applying it, and if I was to do this every 2-4 washes as it suggests, it would get real old, real quick.
But overall, I would recommend this product for blondes and would also recommend it for the red heads. Voila makes a red shade that one of Epic’s stylist’s, Kat, uses to maintain her deep red locks and it works amazingly for her.
